EVERYDAY DOG LIFE
Building an Everyday Wellness Routine for Your Dog
Small, shareable habits for meals, everyday care and more time together.

Your dog probably already has an opinion about the best part of the day. The breakfast dance, the familiar walking route, the spot beside you on the sofa: these little moments are the shape of everyday life together. A thoughtful wellness routine starts by making the essentials easy to remember and simple for your household to share.
Build around the dog you have
A routine should fit your companion and your real day. WSAVA’s nutrition resources emphasize individual nutritional assessment and offer tools for discussing diet history and body condition with a veterinary team. Use that conversation to understand your dog’s needs instead of borrowing a feeding routine from another dog online.
Start a one-page note with the plan you already follow: meals, access to fresh water, activity, rest and any veterinary instructions. Keep the language ordinary. The person looking after your dog for an afternoon should be able to understand it without needing an explanation of your shorthand.
Make the small extras visible
AAHA’s feeding-plan guidance includes feeding amounts, frequency and allowances for treats and other additions. If several people care for your dog, a shared record can help everyone follow the same plan. Include anything used for training or to give medication when you discuss the routine with your veterinarian.
A simple checklist can have three columns: the planned task, the person doing it and a space to mark it complete. A paper on the refrigerator may work better than an app that nobody opens. Choose the version your household will actually use, and put it where the task happens.
Give together-time a place
Make room for the familiar activities your dog enjoys and that suit their needs: a comfortable outing, a gentle play session, or a quiet pause beside you. A routine is also a chance to notice preferences. Does your companion settle in a particular corner after a walk? Is there a time of day when a calmer pace seems welcome?
Keep observations descriptive. If something changes, you will have a clearer account to share with your veterinarian. You do not need to turn every moment into a score or assume that a new product caused an improvement.
If a supplement belongs in the plan
After discussing suitability with your veterinarian, record the exact formula and follow its feeding directions. Keep the jar with its original label, follow its storage instructions and note who has given the serving. Do not use a general routine checklist to invent a serving size or to combine products without reviewing them.
- Keep the agreed feeding instructions easy to find.
- Mark completed tasks so care is not accidentally repeated.
- Save product labels and contact details together.
- Write down changes or questions for your veterinary team.
- Review the household plan when your dog’s needs or caregivers change.
Our Daily Multi-Vitamin formula is one option to discuss when reviewing everyday wellness. It does not replace an appropriate diet or mean that every dog needs extra vitamins. The best routine is one that fits your dog, supports the care recommended for them, and leaves plenty of space for simply enjoying life together.
